Dimensity 810 5G: All you need to know

Dimensity 810 5G SoCs has been announced as the latest model to join the growing Dimensity series smartphone. It is octa-core with 64-bit chipsets that support high refresh rate displays, and come with heterogeneous multi-processing along with support for multi-camera setups. MediaTek Dimensity 810 sticks with Wi-Fi 5 support and has been designed for mainstream mid-tier phones.

MediaTek Dimensity 810 5G includes one set each of Arm Cortex-A55 and Arm Cortex-A76 CPU cores with a maximum clock speed of 2.4GHz. It is a 6nm chipset and has eight cores paired with an Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The RAM support is limited to LPDDR4x and storage is limited to UFS 2.2.

Being a tech savvy person, I like digging into the minute details of the processor. To begin with, in terms of connectivity, it supports 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth v5.1, NavIC, GPS, and more. The MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC can process a single 64-megapixel camera sensor or dual 16-megapixel sensors. It supports up to 2,560x1,080 pixels resolution displays at refresh rates of up to 120Hz.

The Dimensity 810 is said to have built in great performance, has premium displays, and supreme cameras for any situation, all in a leading 6nm chip design that raises the bar of 5G smartphone battery life. Previously only used to make flagship-class 5G chips, MediaTek has brought TSMC’s leading 6nm production process to mainstream 5G smartphone chips with the Dimensity 810. 6nm technology is one of the most power efficient available, giving brands new opportunities to create the slimmest and lightest 5G smartphones ever.

The connectivity enhancements give it a faster response and a rather more reliable gameplay to ensure users are always connected. It also comes inbuilt with a 5G/4G Smart Switch feature. Adding on the device’s exceptional features don’t just stop here. It also tags along an intelligent prediction of Wi-Fi & 5G concurrency. The call & data concurrency on 5G feature is most prominently one of my favourites for it lets its users simply defer calls while in-game without the chances of 5G data connection dropping.
